We’ve been on the corner of 8th and Marquette for 20 years and that may just qualify us as an institution when it comes to the streetscape of Minneapolis.

Established in 1992 by Kim Gruetzmacher, the 8th St Grill is family owned. The Grill considers its hardworking, friendly crew and loyal customers as part of that family. It’s rare to find a place like that in downtown. We’re not bragging when we say, after 20 years–we’re looking better than ever!

A place you come with coworkers for lunch and then… return for our great happy hour!
A place you take your wife/husband for dinner before catching a movie, a concert or a play.
A place you know will kick your party or celebration off to a fantastic start.
And best of all, a place you go to hang out with friends, sample the best selection of tap beers available, catch the big game or play some Trivia.
You don’t need a special occasion to make the 8th St. Grill your place. Come on in, grab a cool one and say Hi.

From the beginning, the Grill’s intent was to offer as much outdoor dining as possible. With tall French doors that open to the street, weather permitting, and a heated patio on the 8th St. side, we offer the luxury of fresh air to our customers, many who spend their workdays at the mercy of air conditioners. During the summer months, the Grill patio is packed for lunch, happy hour and well into the night. Inside, ample seating in the bar and dining room accommodate spontaneous big game celebrations or casual dining any season of the year. We have 10+ large screen TVs to view all the major professional and often local, sports events. (NFL Ticket during the football season.)
The founding father of both of these establishments is the Park Café, which entered the marketplace in 1986 in the TCF Bank Atrium. Since 2004, the Park Cafe has resided in the Hennepin County Government Center offering a salad bar, pizza, soups, sandwiches, bakery and a great grill.

Park Cafe and 8th Street Grill partner in providing high quality catering services—right downtown. We pride ourselves in being able to deliver everything from “fresh for the oven” cinnamon rolls, pizza, and custom built box lunches to full breakfasts and dinners.

The final branch is Park Java, also located in the Government Center – skyway level. There we have coffee worth going a few extra steps (skip the break room and come on over) and more coffee –lattes, mochas and espressos.
